Vishnu Second born of the Hindu holy trinity, he is all-pervading, unlimited by time, space or substance. He is the protector or preserver of the Universe, maintaining the Cosmic Order. Also known as Narayana, Vishnu embodies the qualities of mercy, goodness, and responsibility. He is the balance between creation and destruction. When his father, Siva was denied entry he cut off Ganesha's head. To pacify his wife, he replaced Ganesha's head with the first one he found, an elephant's.
