Cold and flu season is just around the corner. Neti is a great way to fight off a cold or flue.
If you feel one coming on, just increase neti to three times a day.
Even if you lose the battle, keep doing neti and it tends to shorten the amount of time you are ill.

Dr Schmidt Neti Pot
C$18.00, US$18.00

Made in Germany, this is a very high quality plastic neti pot, with the design based on scientific research. It holds about 2 cups of water, and the long wide spout makes for a very fast pour. It also comes with a measuring spoon for an accurately measured saline solution. This is a very nice extra, when compared to other neti pots. Being translucent you can see the water level, if you only want to do half a pot per nostril. To clean it you can put it in boiling water, or in your dishwasher.

We do give an instruction sheet with our neti pots but for a complete use guide go to http://www.profschmidts.com/downloads/COMPREHENSIVE_USERS_GUIDE.pdf

neti use
Use of the Neti Pot

Neti cleans the nose, nasal passages, and sinus cavities. This counteracts the effects of pollution, dust and pollen. It is very helpful for people with asthma and allergies, and is believed to reduce the affects of the common cold. The cilia in the nose are sensitive to many effects. They become less effective in removing germs when they become too cold, too hot, too dry, too moist with mucous, etc. By maintaining the balance of moisture in the nose, the cilia can effectively do their whipping action to remove bacteria and germs away from the cells.

Copper is considered to be a very pure metal, and has many medicinal properties. It is needed to absorb iron, and for making the energy the body runs on. Some hormones require copper for synthesis, as does collagen (the glue that holds muscle tissue together). Copper acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, because it is needed to activate superoxide dismutase, an enzyme that protects joints from inflammation.
