Om Mani Padme Hum is the Tibetan National Mantra meaning
"Hail the Jewel in the lotus flower of the heart", which is where the
soul resides. This goes well with the verse from the Chandogya
Upanishad "In the centre of the castle of Brahman, our own body,
there is a small shrine in the form of a lotus flower, and within can
be found a small space. We should find who dwells in this little space
within the heart, and we should want to know him. "
Om Mani Padme Hum has six syllables which comprise the
six divisions in the Tibetan prayer wheel.
