YABC Overview

SOYA members,
 
Please find attached the 2007 YABC Registered Teacher application.
 
In good faith, we hope this program can offer a way for the many yoga communities in BC to come together in the spirit of yoga. It is starting out at the ground floor with basic material needs like insurance, and we look forward to continuing to grow this relationship.
 
We wish to extend invitation to all SOYA members to join the YABC Registry for a one time $25 application fee. YABC membership fees will be waived, and a free limited membership offered which includes the monthly newsletter and a basic directory profile (no photo).
 
The insurance program will start in January. Once we have final numbers in, we will contact teachers to process the insurance fee expected to be under $200 for $2M professional liability. As numbers grow, so will the annual rate descend.
 
I would also like to find ways we can better support SOYA events and education in 2007. Perhaps we can discuss a shared community event or information session in Vancouver on the SOYA teacher training program. A community blog and message board is currently in development, and I personally would like to see space where we can post SOYA newsletters and other studio messages. The first phase will be up in a week or two for job postings.
